Humberto Cuan’s oil paintings and drawings are impregnated with daily presence; people of the street, travelers on public transportation, those that by getting on the bus begin on a new feat after an exhausting work day, without notice to who is driving in their own cars. Everyone carries their own burdens and travel wrapped in their own thoughts, dreams and illusions. Everyone ultimately tries to fulfill their own goal. In this sense, the work becomes a mirror of the collective experience, where the unique gets melted with the common. Its sonority feeds of the music that has accompanied the vital journey of the artist: sounds of jazz, blues, synth pop, hip hop, trip hop, electro, industrial and cyberpunk among other genres and sub genres that create a dialogue with the shapes and colors of his plastic universe. The work vibrates in sync with these cadences, generating an atmosphere that transcends the visual to convert itself into a sensory and cultural experience.
